The name Adolf Lahti was associated with the logistics business as early as 1927. That year Mr. Adolf Lahti from Oulu and the Sea Captain David Eklöf from Kokkola founded the shipping agency and forwarding company Adolf Lahti & Co. In 1931 Lahti sold his share of the company, and it merged with the loading operation company that had been founded by these same gentlemen. Business continued under the name Adolf Lahti & Co Yxpila Ltd D. Eklöf Oy until the company was renamed Adolf Lahti & Co after Eklöf withdrew from the business. Some four decades later the company was purchased by Oy M. Rauanheimo Ab.
The foundation for the services Adolf Lahti provides today lays in Kokkolan Lastaus Oy, which roots reach back to the eighties. The business, which had started with one loader, expanded to include more and more services such as bulk handling, factory services, civil engineering and maintenance work. Backman-Trummer Oy Ab bought the companys machinery and name in April 2009.
In 2012, the rapidly growing company was again given the time-honored name Oy Adolf Lahti Yxpila Ab.
In 2016, we started to operate in Kotka and Varkaus. We also opened a new office in Jyväskylä.
In 2017, we started wood handling in Äänekoski where Metsä Fibre had opened a new bioproduct mill. Our work includes the operation of pulp loading in Äänekoski factory and Vuosaari harbour. We also opened a new office in Hämeenlinna.
In 2019, we started to operate in Kärkölä and Heinola.
