Adolf Lahti Yxpila expands to Varkaus

Oy Adolf Lahti Yxpila Ab, a subsidiary of the Backman-Trummer Group, has a long tradition as an effective logistics partner for the major industries in Kokkola and Pietarsaari. The company is now expanding its operations to the Stora Enso mill in Varkaus, where it has agreed on services related to raw wood handling with its own special machines. A co-operation agreement was signed earlier in the spring and operations are scheduled to commence at the beginning of next year.

According to Managing Director Joakim Laxåback,
the co-operation agreement is an important part of Adolf Lahti Yxpila’s expansion strategy. The company’s goal is to become the leading partner in its sector for the forest industry in Finland, Laxåback explains.

“Forest industry investments are now on the increase and consequently the demand for loading and transport services in the sector will grow. We use specially designed machines in handling raw timber and have substantial experience of similar operations from the UPM mill in Pietarsaari, where we have been responsible for the entire wood handling chain over the last three years,” explains Laxåback.
